  • Brake Flush

Maintaining a healthy braking system is essential for safe driving, and brake fluid plays an important part in that. Unfortunately, as time passes by it begins to accumulate dirt and other impurities which can significantly reduce its performance. Although you might believe changing the brake fluid is simply adding new liquid into the reservoir, opting for a full brake flush instead of replacing only some of the fluids brings numerous benefits with it! If you're interested in exploring this option further - keep reading below to discover what these advantages are!

Prevent Corrosion: Through brake fluid flushes, you can avoid corrosion and its costly consequences! Brake fluid has the tendency to attract moisture from the air which could lead to metal components of your braking system oxidizing, falling apart and failing. With regular maintenance for this critical aspect of your vehicle's performance though, you can prevent all these issues before they happen – saving yourself time and money in repair costs down the line.

Replace the Deterioting Brake Fluid: Keep your brakes working safely and effectively with a brake system flush: Over time, heat generated by ABS and traction control systems can cause brake fluid to break down. A brake system flush eliminates all the deteriorating brake fluid, replacing it with fresh braking liquid that will ensure maximum braking performance. Don't risk poor stopping power - protect yourself today and book a professional brake fluid change!

Keep the braking system working effectively: Investing in a brake flush service is an incredibly sensible decision for any vehicle. ABS and traction control systems are both vital parts of your braking system, and if these components become clogged with old fluid, they can be damaged irreparably. Additionally, the aged brake fluid often takes on moisture from its environment; leading to rust and corrosion that will take a toll on your pocketbook when you go to replace them! Before this occurs though, get ahead of the game by investing in regular brake flushes: it's much more cost-effective than replacing costly ABS or traction control units later down the line.

What happens if I don't replace my brake fluid?

If you neglect your brake fluid, the efficiency of your car's brakes can drastically decrease, making it difficult for them to work properly. You'll know when something is off just by pressing on the brake pedal as it will feel spongy or soft instead of firm and sturdy like usual. As a result, stopping could take more effort than normal and even require multiple pumps in order to build enough pressure for a secure stop.

If the brake fluid reaches its boiling point, which can occur if it is contaminated with moisture, you may have a frightening experience of total brake failure at any speed. This could be especially alarming when driving on busy roadways or highways. Therefore, it is important that you take precautions to ensure your braking system's safety and performance by regularly inspecting fluids and other components for corrosion or leaks.

How often should I replace my brake fluid?

Most car manufacturers recommend that you replace your brake fluid every 2 years of 30,000 miles.

Should I drive if my brake fluid is low?

Under no circumstance should you drive with a low brake fluid level. Your car relies on brake fluid to effectively transmit the pressure of your foot from the pedal to the brakes. When it's insufficient, your vehicle won't be able to stop as efficiently and may pose safety risks for yourself and others around you.

Driving with a low brake fluid level is an incredibly risky move as it can cause significant damage to the entire system and even lead to brake failure. To ensure your safety while on the road, you must have any leakages in the brake system repaired by a professional mechanic before driving again - this way, you will be able to top up the necessary fluids too. Ignoring these warning signs could result in irreparable harm so don't wait until it's too late!

How much does it cost to get the brake fluid replaced?

The amount of money you pay for the brake fluid exchange will vary depending on your car's make and model, where you take it to be serviced, as well as what type of brake fluid is used.

With an average cost from $80 to $250, the brake fluid flush and replacement can be more costly depending on a few aspects. Luxury or sports cars may have braking systems that need particular fluids which could result in higher prices. Furthermore, labor fees will differ based on the workshop's hourly rate and location.

It’s almost impossible to find a quality mechanic in DC. After making phone calls for three days, I was lucky enough to have found Gary and David! My sons car needed an alternator, battery assessment, oil change, and tire inflation. David arrived on time and Gary was phenomenal about keeping me updated once I scheduled this service appointment for my son. I HIGHLY recommend calling them for all of your automotive service needs!

This is the first time I have used a mobile mechanic service and I was very happy with Instant Car Fix. The mechanic, Jeremy, was great. He identified the problem, acquired the appropriate parts and was back the next day to install them. I was also happy with the online Customer Service representative that I dealt with. All in all, a great experience and I will definitely be using them again.

First time using this service and it worked out great. The only issue I had was the time scheduled. Scheduled for 11 to 3 pm and mechanic showed up at 530pm. He was a bit behind schedule and I was getting a bit nervous, but once he arrived, he knocked out the job super quick and I'm back on the road again. Would use again if I need to. Thank you for the service.
